THE ISLE OF MORR

“A drab spit of slate rock and sharp stone, drowning in grey waters. Ceaseless waves gnaw at the cliffs and coarse salt winds bully an island marred with gorse and stunted pines. 

Those who alight these shores agree something here has called to their soul. Be warned. Few resist theft of it without some sacrifice upon this battered isle.”

A system agnostic, OSR, sandbox, hexcrawl, adventure setting, stretching across a wretched lonely island.

The Isle of Morr has been designed for use with any OSR rule sets that focus on exploration, dungeon crawling, over world travel and creative thinking. It is built around a hex map encouraging players to investigate the island to learn about its locations and people as, and only when, they come across them. 

The setting is explored easiest with a GM at the helm but has been designed with imaginative solo play in mind. It does not restrict player options and is a carefully crafted open world framework to create stories of your own. Stories, interwoven and fleshed out with the random tables, locations and encounters included, dependant on the goals of the players and their characters. You are free to use a ruleset that encourages the style of game, players at your table, most enjoy.

The hex map has 18 illustrated hex with unique keyed locations, inspired by the format of the epic Wolves Upon the Coast. 3 of the locations are further expanded with dynamic random tables and 2 locations have been designed as emergent and re-playable dungeons, similar to Mörkborg’s predecessor Darkfort.

Lots of original artwork, numerous random encounter tables, wandering NPC descriptions, warring factions, oracle and inspiration tables, a d100 trinkets and treasures table and a collection of discoverable truths about the island all help make up the rest of the setting.  A total of 50 A5 pages.

As an island, the setting can be used as either the starting location for a greater campaign,  or easily inserted into a current setting being explored. The text only vaguely hints at the rest of the world around it but references off island locations.
